I collected a sample that was at the waters edge where many birds had been so the top layer was mostly white bird poop and the lower levels were clay with colorful bands of sand and a little bit of algae that was floating atop it. It smelled like Galveston beach, which is ironic (or not) because Bray’s Bayou flows right into Galveston Bay.
