2020 Spring - UH - Mon M2 - Mattie Hagen Goldberg

This sample was collected near a ditch with visible runoff from two nearby businesses: a concrete pipe company and a landscapingfirm. The site was chosen based on its vicinity to two EPA Superfund sites. Within about 100 yards of the sample collection site, there was a children’s playground and a middle school. I found the site by following an industrial truck carrying some sort of fluid. I watched that truck and two others like it back up to a manmade body water and dump their contents into the pool. My assumption was that this was normal behavior for the business and because of recent rains, the pool often overflowed into the area that I collected from.
