Pesticide bioremediation has global importance due to the detriment that pesticides have proven toxicity. Using bacteria to break down these toxic chemicals is an impressive use of biotechnology. From this study, it is concluded that microorganisms can break down paraoxon pesticide and can continue to grow once plated on an agar. This information is important because it demonstrates that these organisms can be used to heal the environment from paraoxon pesticide. In the future, this research could be used to further study pesticide breakdown and be used as a large-scale effort to reverse the adverse effects of pesticides on the environment.
